The rising energy demand, fuel costs, and global net-zero goals are driving the power sector toward alternative energy sources. This shift is crucial for regional power grids and transport applications, including vehicles, marine vessels, and aircraft, enabling the adoption of hybrid and all-electric propulsion systems. These systems integrate renewable sources such as photovoltaics, fuel cells, and hydrogen, with advanced electrical distribution topologies improving efficiency and reliability.
However, degradation in power conversion components can lead to malfunctions or failures, potentially causing damage. To ensure high reliability, advancements in predictive health management, condition monitoring, and lifetime evaluation of critical components are essential.
